Brussels

Last Saturday (16th) we left Paris and took a train to Brussels. We then took another train a short distance to the central train station in Brussels. After we checked into the hotel (very nice by the way) we went out in search of food. Everyone got something to eat, chilled in the restaurant or took it back to their rooms depending on how they were feeling. I realize now that I don't have any photos from Brussels. I think that between the long travel day and the rain that was waiting for us when we arrived, I was in survival mode (eat and sleep) more than anything else. After a restful evening we loaded up the next morning, searched out some waffels (what else are you going to have in Belgium?) and headed back to the train station. After a train and a bus we made it to the small airport just outisde of Brussels for our Ryan Air flight. Most of you know that we were all very anxious about the weight limits on this flight. Between 1 40 pound bag and 1 carry on (no personal item) we were all a little nervous - some more than others. Some of the girls were wearing a couple pair of pants, a few shirts, a sweatshirt, their warm up, and stuffing things into their pockets before we went through check-in. After shifting some things around in teammates bags, we all made it without extra fees. Seating on Ryan Air is like Southwest - first come, first served - so we were happy to have our "priority seating." On the flight you could buy food which most of us did since it was right at lunch time. I had a burger that reminded me of my elementary school cafeteria......
